All About Me
Greetings! My name is Kyle Frederick, and I teach Engineering and Engineering Graphics classes in the STEAM Academy at Flowery Branch High School. After majoring in Industrial Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology, I spent 17 years working in the transportation industry. Upon feeling a call to work with children in an educational setting, I returned to school. I earned a degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of North Georgia in 2007. I spent two years teaching 5th grade, during which time I earned Gifted Certification. I spent the next six years teaching gifted students in grades K-5. This experience was gratifying; however, I found myself wanting to move my instruction further intellectually than my students were capable of at that level. This led me to pursue and obtain my Technology Certification in 2015 and to teach engineering at North Hall. After four years at North Hall, I made the move to the greatest school in the nation, The Branch! I genuinely enjoy the academic rigor employed in our STEAM Academy, as well as the opportunity to engage students in hands-on instruction and learning in academic disciplines that move and excite me as an individual and as a teacher. I wholeheartedly believe that the STEAM experience we are providing our students today will lead to the leaders and innovators of tomorrow.
